In the distant future, the Earth, once damaged by humanity, has slowly recovered　and is now a beautiful and peaceful planet.

Living there is a mysterious creature named Madā, the last creature to be born on Earth. Along with her companions, she has spent a long time working to save the Earth.

I think this book became truly special and unique because the author, Michele, and the publisher gave me the creative freedom to imagine and create Mada in my own way.

I chose the tapir as her inspiration. In Japan, the tapir (Baku) is known as a creature that eats nightmares.

I imagined the polluted Earth as a nightmare, and Mada as a tapir who eats the Earth’s nightmares, cleansing the planet in the process. Once her role is complete, she quietly disappears.

In the book, Mada is also described as “the last thing on Earth.” Interestingly, according to one legend, the tapir was the last creature created by God.
