Sake Art
My “Sake Art” project involves tasting different types of Japanese sake and expressing their unique flavors through illustrations.
First of all, I just love Japanese sake. And I was sharing my passion for it with my friends. One day, a friend who doesn’t drink alcohol asked me,
“What does it taste like?”
In trying to explain, I began drawing illustrations, which eventually inspired me to capture the unique flavors of different types of sake through my illustrations.
The Tipsy Home
In December 2019, I organized a group exhibition in Berlin called “The Tipsy Home.” For this event, we brought real sake from Japan and invited guests to compare the actual taste of the sake with the illustrations from the Sake Art series. We also included a fun mini-game where guests could see if their impressions of the sake matched the artwork, making it an engaging experience for everyone.
